Keynote speaker

Bruce Patterson

Bruce Patterson is Curator of Mammals at the Center for Negaunee Integrative Studies, Field Museum of Natural History (Chicago, USA) and Adjunct Professor of Ecology and Evolution, at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

 

He has worked in different aspects of the systematics, biogeography and macroecology of Neotropical and African mammals. He carried out collaborative work with researchers and students from various countries in the Andes, the Amazon, and the Atlantic, Valdivian and Magellan forests.

 

He has published a large number of scientific articles on various topics and is the author of the book "The Lions of Tsavo: Exploring the Legacy of Africa's Notorious Man-Eaters ", in which he made a detailed account of the history of two man-eating lions that ravaged the town of Tsavo, Kenya in 1898.
